Government Affairs & Policy Manager [3729]


Nonprofit working at the forefront of healthcare education seeks permanent Government Affairs & Policy Manager to lead government relations and policy initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit responses, letters, and one-pagers to the Hill and Administration.
  • Review government agency and congressional committee information.
  • Attend congressional meetings, hearings and briefings, and advisory council meetings.
  • Take detailed meeting notes and provide summaries to senior leadership.
  • Collect data related to congressional and administration activities.
  • Create reports and analyze legislation, rules, and regulations related to policy and higher education.
  • Develop policy briefs and fact sheets.
  • Coordinate committee and meeting logistics as necessary.
  • Draft written materials and assist in developing department newsletter and social media posts.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Effectively manages priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Customer-service oriented.
  • Familiarity with standard office policies and procedures.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and graphic design tools, such as Canva and Adobe InDesign.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience on Capitol Hill or working with an association in a public policy capacity.
  • At least seven (7) years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel as needed.


Salary:
$65,000 - $85,000 per year.
