Job Description

Design, facilitate, and perform training.

Key results areas:

1. Coordinate training activities for colleagues
   1. For training activities that are not delivered by the trainer, the trainer will coordinate schedules and documentation on behalf of the trainee.
   2. Outcome: Trainees are fully ready to perform work (quality and quantity) within the desired amount of time (determined by testing technique) after starting in the department. Each subsequent training (technique) is completed in 7 days (or other appropriate length of time as dictated by the testing technique).
2. Administer training records to maintain compliance with policy and regulation
   1. Outcome: all employees in the dept have training records up to date at all times.
   2. Monitor training records
3. Create technical training content (curriculum creation)
   1. Over the course of 10 months, prepare full training sequences and material for each technique in the department. Includes presentations, quizzes, documentation forms, etc.
   2. Outcome: Created training materials can be effectively delivered by any trainer. Trainees are successful after taking the training.
4. Deliver (perform) training
   1. Execute direct, hands-on, training with trainees.
   2. Coach and evaluate new employees on their technical training performance via review of their data, practice assignments, and one on one feedback

Scope

1. New employee onboarding training
2. Remedial training
3. Cross training for existing employees
4. Understanding of all techniques within the department (approximately 20 different microbiological testing techniques)

Qualifications

Minimum

Qualifications

1. BS in Microbiology or other science degree
2. 3+ years of experience working in a lab setting (Microbiology preferred)
3. Ability to work in the US without immediate or future sponsorship
4. Previous teaching or facilitation experience
5. Previous experience designing training
6. Ability to quickly learn many lab techniques and content areas
7. Ability to diagnose and close knowledge gaps and skill gaps in trainees
8. Problem-solving skills, good judgement and versatility in dealing with people
9. Ability to coordinate multiple priorities, long-range thinking, ability to move a concept or idea through to reality, self-motivation, organizational abilities
10. Effective written and oral communication, work independently, cooperative and pleasant attitude with clients and coworkers, high degree of flexibility
11. Technical writing skills
12. Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
13. Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
14. Regular attendance and punctuality

Additional Information

Working schedule will be Full-Time, First Shift, 8am-4pm Monday-Friday. 25% travel may be required for this position. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lancaster, PA are encouraged to apply.
