Employee Relations Duties/Responsibilities:

This position works in close collaboration with the Senior Director of HR to develop, market, and facilitate training programs, in addition to facilitating existing programs, including GLO (Goodwin Living Orientation). In addition, the Training Specialist oversees training logistics conducive to learning including booking space, coordinating catering, room set-up, functioning audio/visual, materials and handouts are ready for each training session.

 

  • Organize, present and facilitate bi-weekly Goodwin Living Orientations (GLO), including, but not limited to, reserving meeting space, creating the annual GLO calendar, scheduling presenters, presenting material on GL policies and procedures, Corporate Compliance, Harassment, and filling in for other presenters, as needed.

  • Conduct needs assessment to inform development of training programs. 

  • Develop and facilitate training programs based on organizational needs. 

  • Create training schedules, track and create reports on outcomes of all training and maintain training records in ADP. 

  • Plan and deliver online and Relias training.

  • Attend seminars and meetings to learn new training methods and techniques and use the knowledge to prepare and coordinate future training sessions. 

  • Advertise and promote training programs.

  • Recommend training materials and methods, order and maintain in-house training equipment and facilities. 

  • In an administrator capacity, oversee Relias Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Ensure training programs adhere to regulatory and organizational requirements.

  • Conduct training needs analysis to identify skills gaps and training requirements through various methods like surveys, interviews, and performance data analysis. 

  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback mechanisms and performance metrics.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including managers and subject matter experts, to align training with business objectives.

  • Partner with HR leadership on coaching and development situations by identifying/recommending training for upskilling or remediation.

  • Provide input to training budget and manage expenses to stay within budget.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Learning and Development, Communications or related field from an accredited college or university highly preferred. 

  • Training certifications are preferred, but not required (e.g., DiSC, MBTI) business, marketing or related field that equips one for this role. 

  • Prior experience conducting, creating, and/or facilitating training is required. 

  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to consistently and reliably meet deadlines. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 

  • Ability to learn quickly and process new information to inform directions and decisions. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to engage an audience through creativity and energy.

  • Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously, including timelines and resources preferred.

  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and other relevant technologies.

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies is highly preferred.

  • Must be able to work across multiple locations weekly.
